Luke 1:37

And the scripture of the week is. . . .Luke 1:37,
"For with God, nothing shall be impossible."

Let me repeat that.

"For with God, NOTHING shall be impossible."

What a great, comforting scripture. We can rely on the Lord for anything that we need help with and he will comfort us. We can ask him questions, and we will recieve answers. If we ask Him in faith, with a sincere heart and with real intent, he can make miracles happen, for with God, nothing shall be impossible.

Harry Potter Marathon!

I've finally got the pictures from my birthday party uploaded onto my computer!

Here's all us after we've just watched eight hours of straight Harry Potter. We were pretty tired. :) We had a blast! Thank you, all of my fantastic friends!

A typical birthday at school.

Even if you don't tell anyone at school it's your birthday, it always seems to get out somehow. After many a chorus of "Happy Birthday, Nicole" we ate some mini chocolate and powdered doughnuts I brought to share with the class. Someone drew me a picture of a hair dyer and gave it to me, and someone else said he'd make me a bowl of macaroni. During music class, instead of singing, we played bingo, and my partner and I won twice! Lucky thirteen, eh? :)

Oh, Lauren.

Today after church we were happily eating our pancakes with syrup, and drinking our Tropicana No Pulp Orange Juice when Lauren said, "You can't do that."
"Can't do what?" I asked. Lauren pointed to the juice carton at the logo with the straw sticking out of the orange.
"That," she replied matter-of-factly. "It's impossible. I tried it. It doesn't really work. Juice splattered everywhere and I couldn't get any juice out."  I nearly cracked up lauging. She meant it was impossible to drink orange juice out of a fresh orange by sticking a straw into it. Oh, the mysterious ways of a six-year-old girl.....

Rainbow Day!

Today is National

Rainbow Day!

Just kidding, I made it up. But, real holiday or not, I'm going to celebrate by finding as many rainbow
colored things as I can!

Happy Birthday, Elvis Presley!

I think Elvis is awesome. Zig-zaggy dress shirts and big wave do and all. And I'm not the only one.

Youth Theme Posters!

Lauren and I ordered some Young Women-themed posters for our room, and they just recently arrived in the mail! We put them up above my bed, and they look awesome! The first one is of last year's theme for the youth, "Be Strong and of a Good Courage" based off of the scripture Joshua 1:9. The next one is this year's theme, "Seek After These Things" based off of the 13th Article of Faith.

There's also posters of heroes from The Book of Mormon, the The Bible, church history, and American history that you can look at HERE, from a site called "Real Hero Posters".

Happy Birthday, Isaac Newton!

Sir Isaac Newton
A happy 369th birthday to Sir Isaac Newton, January 4th, 1642!

Newton's 3rd Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction (thank you, Mr. G. for pounding this into my brain).

2011, here we come!

(*Takes a deep breath*) 2011 is finally here!
2010 was definitely awesome; we made so many great memories! I turned twelve and joined the Young Women's program and went on my very first temple trip to the Portland Oregon temple to do baptisms. I got a job, and earned some money, and saved up some money to go on a mission. I and a few other friends had a book-off and tried to read as many novels as we could, starting on September 1st, and ending on December 31st; I reached my goal of 21 novels! 2010 was indeed a year to remember.
I think I'm ready for a new fresh start.... and I have a feeling that this new year is going to be be just as packed with awesome-ness. I plan to strengthen the bond between my family and me, read my scriptures every night, keep a daily journal, and save up enough money to go on a mission for eight months (I'll try and earn the rest in 2012 and 2013!). I'm also going to try (emphasis on try) to run on the treadmill at least once a week.
This New Year's Eve was really unlike any other I've ever had....I got sucked into the Harry Potter books, reading the fourth in the series at the time. I could not take my eyes off that book from 6:30 in the morning until 12:00 at night except to eat! My parents agreed that I could tuck myself away in a bedroom and read, because after all, it was New Year's Eve.
And don't forget that this year's theme for the youth is "Seek After These Things" based on the 13th article of Faith. So I will also be trying extra hard to seek after that which is virtuous, lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy. ☺ I hope that you all enjoyed 2010, and that 2011 brings you much joy!
