finally, some progress!

For my 8th grade Senior Project, I'm learning how to oil paint (it is a very fun and very patience-requiring process). Over Winter Break, I finished my first painting, the one of Mount Hood. It turned out so great! Here's some pics:

Looks pretty close to the original, I'd say! :) I took this a way long time ago (actually it was just this last summer) on our family took a trip to Mount Hood all together for the first time.

    1. Thanks, Mrs. Cook! It's been fantastic working on painting for my Senior Project! I'm going to paint a couple more, and hopefully I'll get those progression pics up here too.

  2. Ummm. Can I go ahead and say- YOU ARE AMAZING! I love that I can call you my neice and tell others what talent you have. You need to keep up with this Cole, you seriously have a gift. You were very blessed with 2 parents with an art ability and I love seeing you share it with others.

Aunt Liane also loves to paint, when they move up to Oregon soon, get her to paint with you! ")

    1. Thanks, Aunt Chairty! :) I miss you guys a lot! And, that's a great idea, having Aunt Liane paint with us when she moves up here! I could kind of tell she was an artist when she signed the roof of our clubhouse, but I didn't know she paints! :)

  3. Oh my goodness! You are amazing! My name is Nicole as well and I am a book freak and I cannot stand improper grammar. I also adore peanut butter. Unfortunately I am not as good at art as you are. I don't know what you are doing but don't you dare stop!!!

    1. Thanks so much! :) I'm so glad to know that there are other book-freak, improper-grammar-hating, peanut-butter-lovers named Nicole in the world! (I love your name, by the way. *winks*) And don't worry, art just takes patience and practice. And more patience. And more practice.

      Thanks for the comment! :)

    9. Awesome, I'll check it out! And no, designing a blog is pretty easy and really fun! The key is getting the right color scheme so that everything goes together and it looks cute. I have a list of good blog designers on the left sidebar of my blog where you can look for backgrounds and things like that.

  6. Hey Nicole,
I'm Patricia and you found my blog (blushingsmileynails.blogspot.com) a bit ago, and thanks for being one of the people who actually read my blog! I've been looking at yours since I found your comment, and it's awesome! Someone should teach me how to make a blog as awesome as yours. I found I'm sort of like you by reading your about me thing--I have only managed to fall asleep during 2 movies, suprisingly all Angelina Jolie Movies--and I really love your artisticness. That painting is gorgeous, by the way. I try my best, but I'm not very good at many things art-related or songwriting-related, nor as dedicated as you seem in everything. I love how you love your family and books and I love accents. I hate incorrect grammar and spelling, and I love your blog as much as I think I'd like you if you went to school with me. You'd be a great friend to have, and I'm pretty sure your friends and family are lucky to have you. Thanks for having the patience to randomly stumble upon blogs.
