change is good.

Summer's comin' up, time for some changes around here.

What do you think? I miss my long hair already, but I like the cute short style. Reminds me of summer! :)

Speaking of changes. And summer. This school year is almost over. Then summer comes. Then you know what happens after summer?

Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan comes out?

Yes. I mean no! That's not--

We get to go see "The Hobbit" in the theaters?

No. I mean yes, but I'm going--

You get to go school clothes shopping!

No! I--wait a second. Computer? Are you...talking to me?

Maybe.

*stares at computer screen for a few seconds*

Um...okay. Anyway, as I was saying, After the summer...get ready...I'm going to highschool.

How weird is that? *sighs* Oh, my gosh. I still can't believe I'm leaving behind MRA and all of my 7th grade friends and favorite teachers for big, scary highschool. MRA, my little charter school gave me the best 3 years of my pre-highschool life. I'm going to miss it so much...

But I'm excited for highschool. It's probably not as big and scary as people make it sound anyway. I actually will get to go school clothes shopping (which I haven't done since 5th grade, before I wore a uniform to school everyday).

I knew it.

But I'm feeling pretty ready. It will be different, that's for sure. But change is good, right?

:)

  1. Hey Nicole! The haircut is so cute! I am getting one soon, even though I already got one in ... April? I don't know! I wish I had a talking computer, but it had better not be like Cleverbot. Cleverbot is lame and has a 3-second memory. :P

I can't believe you're going to high school either, even though I haven't even known you for that long, if I do know you. (Hmm.) Anyway, technically I beat you to high school by a year because I go to a 7/8 program at a high school. So HA!

It's not that big. It's not that scary. Some people do swear and be stupid and snots in general, but you can ignore them. A lot of high schoolers are actually really cool, and nice, even if you are a little person and you think you should be trampled by them. Which you shouldn't. ;)

Change is good, and wow what a coincidence because I've been thinking about that song lately on account of my great jog in memory lane (which wasn't too fun).

    Have a great summer!

(While I am all bored in Utah)

  2. Dear Nicole,
It was so thoughtful of you to post for me! I am finally not bored (for the whole minute it took to read this post, never satisfied)I love your hair cut! I would cut my hair if I didn't know I would hate myself for it afterwards.

Like Patricia I go to a High School program too and it really is OK. At least for me on account of the older people just ignore me. But there are "snots" too who will probably be the snots that that snotty feel like snotty being. But there is always the wonderful: I don't like you so I will just ignore you. Pursuit of happiness.

I went to a charter school with uniforms for five years too! Wow sometimes looking at all of our similarities I get really scared. Once I started going to the high school I got casual dress and it always seems to take forever to get dressed because I just have so many options (10) to choose from and it is so stressful! (just kidding)

YOu may also become a bit more self conscious but I suppose that stupid word is just a natural state of being.

Have fun out in Oregon and don't get sun-burnt cause that sucks!

Patricia I want to meet you so I might just ask Hannah to stalk you! So be ready!!!

    1. I want to meet you too, Nicole! I have heard of you before and Hannah talks about you a lot! If you ever go to her house you should tell her to call my house and I can go up there, and, like, give you a creepy stalker hug. :P

  7. Good gravy, I love the voice in your writing. I may just have to keep reading your blogs as I won't have papers and assignments to read of yours anymore.

You will do wonderfully in High School, dear. I have complete and utter faith in you to succeed at anything you truly set your mind to. Does that mean there will not be challenges along the way and everything will be easy, of course not! The beautiful reality is that you can handle whatever life throws your way, and you'll be all the better person for any struggles you face.

Take care, Nicole. Let me know if you ever need anything. I'm just down the road or an email away.
